Job Description:-
  • Client is seeking a Back End Developer for its Merchandising Technology team.  
  • You will be responsible for delivering critical technology solutions in Space & Visual Merchandising product team.

  • The Space & Visual Merchandising team support the Client design and implementations of retail store layouts (retail floor plans & planograms), recommendations for retail merchandise locations for optimal customer experience and performance of sales and delivering solutions surrounding implementation within the stores.

Project Description:
  • What you will do as a Back End Developer:
  • Implement and configure SaaS/PaaS solutions
  • Integrate commercial off-the-shelf software into Client systems
  • Build custom software that deliver value on their own and/or complement third party solutions.
  • Conduct necessary analysis to resolve production issues
  • Build high-performance, highly available and scalable distributed systems
  • Build the simplest possible thing that will continually deliver working software to customers
  • Prioritize, communicate clearly, and consistently deliver results
  • TDD, paired programming, code reviews, and aggressive refactoring
  • Work with open source software and tools (e.g. Spring, Apache, Tomcat, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Share knowledge with peers to lessen knowledge silos and make the team better

What are the top five skills and number of years of experience required to perform this job?

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Five years of relevant experience as a software engineer. Coding software and integrating multiple systems
  • Experience implementing SaaS/PaaS solutions and integrating it into the larger eco-system.
  • Experience building and integrating web applications using .Net and REST APIs
  • Experience using an Agile-based development methodology (Scrum, Kanban, XP)
  • Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in implementation and deployment of modern web development solutions including: .Net, Java, Spring, REST based web services, relational databases
  • Experience with modern front-end libraries/frameworks such as React, Node, or Angular
  • Ability to design and develop complex technical solutions that operate at scale
  • Experience in test driven development practices, continuous integration and deployment practices
  • Experience in test automation software (Selenium, Cucumber, etc.) 
  • Experience using version control systems such as SVN or Git
  • Proficiency with UNIX/Linux command line
  • Knowledge of planogram and floorplan software - Blue Yonder (formally JDA) Space Planning Suite (Space Planning, Floor Planning, IKB, Open Access, Assortment Optimization, Space Automation)
  • Experience with implementing on premises to cloud migration
What are some preferred/nice to have skills the manager is looking for?
Additional preferred skills and experience:
  • Software engineering experience using languages such as C#, VB.Net, Java, Groovy, and/or PL/SQL, ASP.net. 
  • Strong knowledge Database - MSSQL, Oracle, Teradata, Access, NoSql datastores
  • Reporting tool experience- BOBJ, SharePoint
  • Experience with Space Management tools, e.g. AutoCAD, JDA-IKB
  • Experience with ETL technology, e.g. Informatica PowerCenter
  • Experience with Cloud Computing platforms, e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Computing Platform, OpenShift and OpenStack
  • Architecting connections with third party SaaS solutions
  • Knowledge of modern deployment, CI/CD, and configuration management tools
  • Scripting, automation, and troubleshooting of processes and systems
