Job Title: AR Billing Specialist
Department: Finance
Position Summary
The AR Billing Specialist is responsible for a variety of Finance & Accounting functions in the areas of invoicing, accounts receivable, collections and reconciliations. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter with 2-3 years of Billing and Collections experience, as well as a general awareness of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). A proven ability to thrive in a high volume, fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills and a keen attention to detail are required to be successful in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Import and validate consultant timesheets into the accounting system 1Staff/Great Plains on a weekly basis; work to resolve any discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
- Create, process, and distribute invoices on a weekly, semi-monthly, & monthly basis. Respond to both internal and external customers on a timely basis regarding questions.
- Manage receivables collections for your assigned accounts and effectively work with internal & external stakeholders to ensure timely receipt of payment.
- Update AR Aging reports with collection follow up notes.
- Validation reconciliations of client portal time entry to our system time entry.
- Process weekly Time entry adjustments and retro rate adjustments.
- Support information requests within Finance and other departments and respond to external information requests as needed.
- Maintain and update related process documentation position procedures.
- Cross-train on other Finance team members’ tasks to serve as back-up.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2-5 years of relevant experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with excellent Excel skills
- Ability to work well within a team, including a natural willingness to help where needed
- Ability to work independently, task driven
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be very detail oriented, with strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
- Natural curiosity to find and resolve root causes of issues
- MS Dynamics Great Plains experience a plus
