General Position Summary:

  • The QA Engineer II works with his immediate supervisor and manages testing efforts. This is a skilled profession that requires previous experience in quality assurance, preferably in the same industry

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Familiarity with software quality assurance processes and software testing best practices
  • Design and implement validation scripts and tools using modern scripting languages and complex SQL queries.
  • Support automated testing process by scoping and implementing framework extension projects.
  • Execute application, usability, functional, regression testing.
  • Execute testing tasks, isolate problems, report and track defects & third-party issues with a high degree of detail.
  • Evaluate testing results and enter problem reports in a problem tracking system (Team Foundation Server).
  • Identify QA and testing issues.
  • Able to do manual testing and use that experience (after a couple of times) to create automated test scripts and perform automated tests
  • Create test plans and suites from the user stories defined by product owners.
  • Review test plans and cases with development team members and product owners.
  • Automate the test plan, make them a repeatable process (scripts) for each code check-in.
  • Should be able to integrate the tests into CI (Continuous Integration) builds.
  • Provide clear bug description and useful debugging information, ideally for complex system containing several moving parts
  • Identify opportunities to minimize manual work and thereby increase the quality of the product.
  • Be responsible for certifying each build that goes out to lower level environment.
  • Make sure the automated test coverage is as high as possible, and work with the immediate supervisor to fill in the gaps with documented manual testing

  • Teamwork skills, because most projects require input from individuals with different roles
  • Self-development skills to keep up to date with fast-changing trends

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Will be responsible to train junior /interns if required
  • Specific Job Skills and Experience:
  • 3-5 Years in Automation Testing using automated and manual testing with Microsoft .NET based products
  • Strong communication skills
  • Working knowledge of national and international standards in a regulated environment will be a plus
  • Knowledge and understanding of STLC
  • Understanding of complete SDLC.
  • Experience on tools used by QA team like Visual Studio, Test Automation Suite, Bug Tracking Software, Team Foundation Server
  • Expertise with compliance and regulatory standards and procedures in healthcare will be plus
  • Experience of Test Automation of UI & API.
  • Experience with Selenium, nunit, Microsoft tfs, cucumber framework will be a plus
  • Experience with load simulation tools like JMeter, artillery.io etc.
  • Knowledge with API testing tools like Postman.
  • Good understanding of HTTP protocol, REST API, Cookies and browse sessions.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  • Should have a working experience in Team Foundation Server

Education:

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems.
  • Exposure to API Automation
  • Hands on experience on database
  • Provide accurate reporting to the immediate supervisor around the testing progress, risks and issues.
