Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • Looking for an energetic, creative, and technically savvy User Experience Designer to work within our User Experience Design Studio team! We're seeking a savvy designer who wants to work on important and complex challenges.
  • You'll collaborate with a crossfunctional project team to design dashboards, portals, apps, or websites and partner with UX researchers, designers, and developers to create great experiences for our users. Using user research, analysis, and UX methodologies, you'll translate user needs, patterns, information architecture, process flows, and other design inputs into easytouse and aesthetically beautiful solutions.

Ideal Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human - Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Information Architecture, Communications, Computer Science, a related discipline, OR two years of relevant work experience 5+ years of UX experience
  • Experience gathering user research and testing concepts with users to inform design decisions
  • Experience with conducting expert reviews and/or heuristic evaluations
  • Experience with industry standard design tools (e.g. Sketch, Axure, Illustrator, Photoshop, InVision)
  • Experience creating wireframes and prototypes to communicate design concepts to users and project partners
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team and internal clients
  • Ability to work with designers and developers to implement new ideas
  • Ability to create clean, visually consistent designs Ability to quickly iterate designs to meet business and user needs while adapting to technical constraints
  • Ability to manage time and deadlines effectively Ability to receive and provide design critique
  • Demonstrated understanding user - centered design and research activities
  • Portfolio of relevant user experience design and/or research project deliverables
  • Practice selling ideas with good negotiation skills Knowledge of foundational web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) Solid understanding of designing for Accessibility standards WCAG/508

Top Requirements:

  • The candidate must have a solid understanding of design thinking and he/she must be able to show case how they applied the process to a real project with qualifiable impact.

Team and Team size:

  • 1-5, the team size can vary.
  • Agile teams vary, e.g. Product owner, Subject Matter Experts, and Developers.

Top Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for user-centered research and design principles
  • Use wireframes, flow diagrams, sketches, storyboards, mockups, and/or highfidelity prototypes to communicate the current or future user experience. Gather insights and test concepts with users in order to inform design decisions
  • Leverage and contribute to existing design pattern libraries and interface guidelines.
  • Critique inprogress design work, evaluating the usability and effectiveness of solutions.

Skills/attributes Required

  • Experience working with Agile methodology
  • Experience with enterprise software
  • Experience with medical or healthcare industries
  • Experience in practical application of accessibility standards and guidelines
  • Experience in group facilitation, user interviews, heuristic evaluations, task analysis, usability test moderation and card sorting
  • Experience designing for mobile and/or responsive web Experience with conversational interaction design and its related technologies (natural language understanding, speech recognition, dialog generation, and speech synthesis) Involvement in the UX community (e.g. UXPA, AIGA, IxDA, meet-ups, clubs, conferences)
  • Knowledge of UX related analytics and metrics
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts clearly and persuasively across diverse audiences at various levels of our organization Visual design skills
  • Knowledge of video, motion graphics or photography Eager to learn from engagement and team members
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven ability to work across the design process, with high quality and attention to detail
