Core Tasks

  • Configure and optimize network hubs, routers, and switches (e.g., higher-level protocols,  tunneling).
  • Develop and implement network backup and recovery procedures.
  • Diagnose network connectivity problems.
  • Install and maintain network infrastructure device operating system software (e.g., IOS,  firmware).
  • Install or replace network hubs, routers, and switches.
  • Monitor network capacity and performance.
  • Patch network vulnerabilities to ensure information is safeguarded against outside parties.
  • Test and maintain network infrastructure including software and hardware devices.

  • Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security  methodologies.
  • Knowledge of risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk).
  • Knowledge of national and international laws, regulations, policies, and ethics as they relate to  cybersecurity.

  • Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Knowledge of specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses.

Qualification

  • TS//SCI with ability to obtain DHS Suitability

Preferred Qualification

  • 5-9 years of experience in information security and/or automated digital network systems (ADNS)
  • Network Engineer Certification from verified vender (i.e., CCIE, CCNP, CompTIA Network +) SolarWinds Certified Professional, WCNA, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree: Computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, software engineering, information systems, and computer engineering

Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • The Senior Network Engineer will serve as a member of the Enhanced Cybersecurity Services (ECS) team within Threat Intelligence Center (OpTIC) and will interact with other teams within Enterprise Information Security (EIS).
  • Engineer will research and build ECS System in accordance with the Security Requirements Guide (SRG) and standards.

Ideal Background:

  • a. Experience building IT systems to meet Department of Homeland Security/Federal Government requirements.

Team and Team size:

  • Small team of 2 to 6 people.
  • Manager, Intelligence Analyst, Architect, System Admin,.
