  • A smart candidate that understands the Healthcare space with very good experience with Enterprise Architecture and Solution Architecture

Top Requirements:

  • Possesses deep knowledge of healthcare and regulatory environment - and the corresponding technology applications for all product capabilities across healthcare lines of businesses.
  • Designs and delivers solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards and advances the architecture toward the target state
  • Produce solution options and design models with high degree of complexity and connect multiple domains and technologies, and identify and leverage reusable patterns and articulate trade-offs with enterprise standards staying connected with engineering reality
  • Practices architecture and design principles by applying standards, patterns and practices within multiple domains of a LOB (i.e. domain driven design, API design, & microservice principles). Drives decisions on how to apply these principles.
  • Understands the deployment pattern for the software components within multiple products including their costs. Expertise in cloud based deployment patterns available in the enterprise with working knowledge of multiple patterns. Leads teams to drives decisions to migrate to new deployment patterns (Cloud vs. On-Prem vs. Hybrid) as part of modernization efforts

The Sr. Principal Architect is expected to do the following :

  • Gathers details and facts to clearly define the problem and opportunity for improvement for highly complex problems. Decision maker within the team and influences stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Identifies both internal and external customer experience impacts and develops persona's to represent those impacts and customer needs.
  • Ties problems to persona needs and recommends priorities to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Leverages network of resources both inside and outside the company as additional source of facts/data and knowledge.
  • Leverages vendors and independent third parties as additional sources of facts/data and knowledge.
  • Pro-actively identifies patterns in issues and researches root-cause to provide better clarity in defining highly complex problems.

Aligns problems to product and platform opportunities.

  • Defines Strategies and Value/Outcome targets with senior leadership.
  • Intimate knowledge on customer’s product roadmap and linking defined problems to roadmap priorities.
  • Identifies Cross LOB opportunities and leads problem definitions across LOBs.
  • Articulates problems with written and verbal communication as well as presentation materials to stakeholders at the most senior levels of the organization.
  • Excellent presentation and story telling skills that engages both engineering and business stakeholders to champion resolution to problems.
  • Identifies cause and effect relationships between known and unknown variables
  • Breaks complex topics into meaningful chunks of information - assesses for relevancy, eliminates noisy information, corroborates from multiple sources
  • Draws correlations from non-standard data/information and uses broader inferences to better clarify problem, root cause, impact and overall risk
  • Champions problem resolution, defines necessary roles to address the problem, and drives accountable execution within the team to deliver on target milestones.

Healthcare Business and Industry Acumen :

  • Possesses deep knowledge of healthcare and regulatory environment - and the corresponding technology applications for all product capabilities in more than one line of business.
  • Facilitates the discovery of current state, gaps, and solution options through discovery and analysis.
  • Presents decision matrix with recommendations on how to proceed to stakeholders and executive leadership. Makes decisions for their capability areas.
  • Ensure "tribal knowledge" is preserved through coordinated library and documentation of relevant information
  • Create a framework for team to have continuous learning cycles

Architecture Practice and Assessment :

  • Drives Enterprise-wide Strategic Initiatives, aligning business & technology strategy to business outcomes, and works with Product Owners to drive product strategy.
  • Aligns enterprise architecture direction and solutions with business strategies. Manages two functions : Outcome based E2E architecture & Product Capability based strategic architecture
  • Decision maker for the identification/prioritization of solution from the various options provided by team, and final recommendation from multiple solution options
  • Collaborate with the business stakeholders by clearly identifying scope, application impacts & sizing
  • Drive product level modernization agenda and builds complex enterprise ecosystems that solves high-level strategic issues
  • Provides oversight of other's conceptual designs to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture direction
  • Decision maker for the identification/prioritization of solution from the various options provided by team, and final recommendation from multiple solution options
  • Facilitates product capability strategy, and supports product capability strategic architecture planning and transformation
  • Demonstrate cross functional knowledge and understanding of the product capability by producing target state and transition state architecture artifacts
  • Set's architectural vision that clearly states the intent/goal and helps the product team understand the architectural guardrails
  • Works with the delivery teams to identify technical debt and address in the product roadmap
  • Designs and delivers solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards and advances the architecture toward the target state
  • Produces solution options and design models with high degree of complexity and connects multiple domains and technologies, and identify and leverage reusable patterns
  • Articulates trade-offs with enterprise standards staying connected with engineering reality
  • Ensures quality of a specific architectural discipline by requiring strict adherence to patterns and procedures
  • Formulates & publishes procedures, policies & guidelines
  • Presents material to Enterprise Architecture Review Boardss and presents findings to the unit level CTO and CIO

Technology Acumen and Design :

  • Demonstrates expert understanding of the technology stack for software components within multiple products.
  • Drives decisions to change to the tech stack as part of modernization efforts.
  • Demonstrates expert understanding of user centered design principles.
  • Seeks to understand how customer will interact with system and how best to design solution from their perspective through operational walkthroughs and user observations. -Drives decisions to make operational changes.
  • Practices architecture and design principles by applying standards, patterns and practices within multiple domains of a LOB (i.e. domain driven design, API design, & microservice principles). Drives decisions on how to apply these principles.
  • Understands the deployment pattern for the software components within multiple products including their costs.
  • Maintains and monitors health dashboard of software components within multiple products (PADU, Total Cost of ownership, Capability Assessment, etc...).
  • Drive decisions to modernize and reduce costs including development of technical business cases.
  • Demonstrates expertise in security, performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability and usability in solution design. Drive architecture decisions that maintain these attributes within multiple products.
  • Demonstrates understanding of upstream and downstream impacts and dependencies. - Has expert knowledge of the systems that support or rely upon software components multiple products to better understand integrations and impacts.
  • Drives decisions to reduce dependencies and minimize their impact.
  • Evaluates service areas both within the business and within engineering to identify opportunities and leads teams to drive decisions for automation within multiple products.
