Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • This position is target to join a scrum team focused on the delivery of web based functionality supporting our small business health insurance business.
  • Projects may include delivery in such areas as web development, web service development, integration to other internal systems, and data migration projects.
  • These initiatives include projects for both external and internal facing applications.

Team and Team size:

  • The team operates in a agile/scrum manner. We have 5 scrum teams delivering functionality and enhancements in support of our business.
  • These teams are typically 5 developers, 3 QA, and a scrum master.
  • The developer would join one of those scrum team to assist in the delivery of identified projects.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Experience in creating Test Scenarios, Test Cases.
  • Exposure to Behavior Driven Development and test-driven development (BDD and TDD)
  • Knowledge of SQL and any DB tools
  • Done significant contributions to enhance automation framework (design test plans, scenarios, automate, execution and report results)
  • Good understanding of Agile processes, participate in scrum ceremonies and be able to present product functionalities to stakeholders
  • Able to quickly learn new tools for web/API testing (e.g., RESTful/SOAP APIs, Chaos testing, Postman tools etc.), do POCs and incorporate as per the project needs
  • Able to be passionate to enhance or refractor existing test framework by adopting industry best practices/tools. Looks for opportunities to enhance QE aspects in different stages of SDLC and implementation of the same
  • Able to assess, implement best engineering practices on continuous testing and automated performance tests etc. To achieve this, candidate should be able to collaborate with other team members and advance the automation
  • Able to plan test strategies for distributed environments and automate
  • Able to do RCA (Root-Cause-Analysis) for defects, collaborate with engineering teams as required for this, identify improvement areas for better test coverage
  • Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Build positive professional relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of code versioning tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, code hub etc.
  • Work concurrently on several projects, each with specific instructions that may differ project to project.

Skills/attributes are a must have:

  • 5 + years IT experience in a software development environment.
  • Strong Experience in creating Test Scenarios, Test Cases and Defect tracking.
  • Experience in creation/development of automation framework using automation tool like Selenium
  • Experience in creation/development of automation scripts using the automation framework. Execution of automated scripts in different test env. Analysis of automation test run log and debugging of scripts.
  • Working knowledge of ATDD, Agile and DevOps practices.

Must Have Technology Skills

  • Clear and demonstrable understanding of Software Testing Life cycle.
  • Strong experience in Manual and Automation testing and levels of testing.
  • Knowledge on SQL.
  • Understand the concepts and best practices of DevOps and modern CI/CD.
  • Should have knowledge on new tools for web/API testing (e.g., RESTful/SOAP APIs, Chaos testing, Postman tools etc.), do POCs and incorporate as per the project needs.
  • Must have knowledge on SQL and preparing scripts when needed.
  • Should ensure Quality of project/Deliverables.

Nice to have Experience

  • Performance testing experience either in Load runner / JMeter or any other
