  • As a PR issues management specialist on the external communications team, you will have the opportunity to be part of a vital team that is dedicated to protecting and advancing Client reputation.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Work with company leaders to provide expert communication strategies and recommendations to manage reputational risks
  • Serve as a communications lead or back-up on company working groups for issues management and activations
  • Write clear and compelling content, including key messages, statements, talking points, press releases and stories for a variety of channels
  • Work collaboratively with our partner teams, including employee communications, paid & social media, government affairs, human resources and investor relations
  • Simultaneously manage communications for multiple sensitive issues at one time
  • Maintain and improve crisis communications playbooks on a variety of scenarios
  • Collaborate with and guide the work of external vendors as needed
  • Develop and implement strategies to train local and global partners on issues communications
  • Conduct media monitoring on key issues and collaborate with team members to escalate information to others
  • Track and measure communications results
Your skills and expertise
  • To set you up for success in this role from day one, Client is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
  • Possess an undergraduate degree or higher from an accredited university in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field
  • 5-7 years of public relations or other external communications experience
  • Experience with crisis communications and/or reputation management

  • Capability to translate complex information into clear and compelling communications
  • Experience working with global teams and adapting plans to fit their unique audiences

  • Experience advising company leaders and sharing insights in a meaningful way
  • Entrepreneurial and curious spirit that leans into asking “what if,” and results in innovative ideas and actions
  • Loves engaging with and motivating people
The role of corporate issues management
  • This role will help allow Clients vision and purpose to resonate with our stakeholders as we strategically manage the issues that have potential to pull focus from our goals.
  • Individuals will work with division executives, marketing leaders and department managers to identify, evaluate and develop strategic communication plans to advance and protect Client global reputation.
  • The work interfaces daily at high levels of the organization to successfully align Client corporate communications goals with business strategies.
