Project Description:

  • As we continue to grow, client  is transforming our Geek Squad Instore Services products. As our Sr. Software Engineer,
  • you will be responsible for architecting and implementing the next generation of Geek Squad applications.
  • You will be using Cloud Native technologies, DevOps principles and Agile practices to deliver industry leading solutions at high velocity and unrivaled quality.
  • The Sr. Software Engineer will be part of the Geek Squad Services Technology Team that is responsible for building React components, Microservices, and Cloud Native components that provide the best digital experience for our employees.

Position Summary/Job Description:

  •  This is a hands-on role, where you will design, develop, test, and maintain highly web-based applications using React, JVM or Dot Net based languages, No SQL, Event Streams (Kafka, etc) and so on.
  •  Design and build software to support and enhance parts order management & catalog functions.
  •  Provide technical leadership to team members around architecture, technology choices, code reviews, quality, security, automation, and documentation.
  •  Demonstrate a creative and innovation-driven ability to articulate engineering design patterns related to scale, performance, security, and usability.
  •  Take up complex projects and break them down into smaller chunks that can then be individually solutioned and executed.
  •  Help new engineers with onboarding, mentoring, and teaching them new tools and technologies.
  •  Think about the bigger picture and provide architectural solutions that help build a scalable and reusable ecosystem.
  •  Always look out for opportunities to automate frequently repeated processes.

Skills Overview:
What are the top five skills and number of years of experience required to perform this job?  

  •  6+ years of experience building highly scalable applications using JVM or Dot Net based languages
  •  2+ years of experience building cloud native applications (GCP, Azure, AWS)
  •  2+ years of experience with Front End Development/Design patterns leveraging React/Angular or other JS technology
  •  2+ year of experience building, deploying, operating, and debugging REST APIs, Microservices, GraphQL
  •  Experience in Agile development methodology - Scrum, Kanban and/or XP

What are some preferred/nice to have skills the manager is looking for?  

  •  Hands on development experience building scalable application on Azure (Managed/PaaS services)
  •  Hands on experience working with No SQL databases.
  •  4+ years of Experience in React
  •  1+ year of experience in Mobile App development (Android or iOS)
  •  Experience in unit testing, test-driven development, or functional test automation
  •  Experience using version control systems such as GitHub
  •  Demonstrated background working directly with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders
  •  Experience in test driven development, continuous integration, and deployment practices
  •  Experience in an eCommerce/retail organization
