  • As a Software Engineer – Android Developer, you will be asked to design the next generation of our product. This is a hands-on role which requires coding. Our product suite spans from medical devices that a patient wears, to mobile apps, up to our back-end servers so this is a challenging task, and one that requires very critical thinking to ensure the system performs well

A Day in the Life
  • Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain mobile applications for Android
  • Maintain and monitor commercial apps by tracking crashes, OS updates and other field issues
  • Work closely with product engineering, product marketing, quality and the systems teams to ensure the product works properly from end-to-end, both pre and post-release.
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Document work per medical device standards
  • Test beta releases of Android to make sure our app keeps working
  • Participate in creation of software validation protocols
  • Follow internal software development, validation and cybersecurity procedures to comply with medical regulations
  • Have strong knowledge Android development using Java
  • Working experience with BitBucket/Git
  • Be familiar with Agile processes, Atlassian suite of tools.
Responsibilities :
  • Designs, develops, debugs and implements operating systems components, software tools and utilities.
  • Determines systems software design requirements.
  • Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
  • Work in an agile/scrum environment.
  • Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related Science or Engineering degree
  • 2+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in Computer Science or related Science or Engineering degree
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Java, Kotlin
  • Experience using cloud-based technologies such as firebase
  • Experience developing automated test tools for commercial software products
  • Experience coordinating with remote teams
  • Experience working in a regulated industry
  • Experience measuring and reporting quality-related metrics
  • Good understanding of Unit Testing and UI Testing
  • Ability to work on small collaborative software team
  • Have a passion for quality and end to end ownership of software
  • Has published at least one app to the Google Play Store
  • Track record of supporting mobile apps on Android
Responsibilities :
  • Responsible for evaluating and designing, developing or modifying programs for internal functional areas including finance, human resources, and marketing.
  • Analyze existing programs and/or formulate logic for new systems.
  • Develop system design documentation (including GUI design, if required), perform coding, and test/debug programs.
  • Create ad hoc or bolton programs for integrations or functional business teams as needed. Develop conversion and system implementation plans.
  • Prepare and obtain approval of system and programming documentation.
  • Recommend changes in development, maintenance, and system standards.
  • Train users in system enhancements and modifications.
  • Provide patch and software upgrades to existing systems as required.
  • Correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation for program support.
  • Analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Works closely with functional users to enhance and maintain programs.

Required Knowledge and Experience:
  • Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • May have practical knowledge of project management.
  • Requires a University Degree and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
