The Senior Experience Designer:
- is the primary designer responsible for defining the experience solutions and supporting strategy across one to two product and/or project teams to create multi-channel experiences across physical and digital channel touchpoints.
- participates in the defining and facilitation of discovery efforts that integrate multiple product and/or project teams.
- is 40-50% allocated to strategic discovery work with consultation and oversight of delivery efforts related to their work across their assigned product and/or project teams and digital and/or multi-channels experiences.
- facilitates and is responsible for understanding Service Design, Design Thinking, and Human Centered Design to meet the evolving needs of the business, the customer, the employee and the brand.
- facilitates and is responsible for translating business goals and product requirements into a cohesive and consistent experience.
- facilitates and is responsible for collaboration and relationship building within their assigned product and/or project teams through written and verbal communication.
- facilitates and is responsible for the communication of design intent and continuous improvement of the  experiences related to their assigned product and/or project teams.

 

 

Key Responsibility #1
- Supports presentation of high level solutions and strategies to product and/or project stakeholders, engineering leadership, and Experience Design leadership to ensure all critical business requirements are met, the technical solution supports the experience requirements, and the overall experience meets design and brand standards.
- Presents and facilitates work presentation to product and/or project Experience Design team and Experience Design Manager for feedback and approval.
- Presents designs, articulates approach, and facilitates a discussion to gather feedback and approval from all key approvers and stakeholders.
- Participates, presents, and facilitates Experience Design critique sessions to aid in understanding of best practices, conventions, patterns, and to receive and provide feedback to improve experience solutions.

 

 

Key Responsibility #2
- Understands business, technical, customer inputs and employee inputs to define new and/or changes to existing customer and/or employee experiences.
- Creates and provides direction to other Experience Design team members on appropriate deliverables to support the product and/or project team work efforts
- Takes on an indirect leadership role when working with internal Experience Design team consisting of Experience Design Analyst, Associate Experience Designer, and Experience Designer
- Contributes to the definition of the scope, approach and high level strategies and solutions for new and/or changes to existing customer and/or employee experiences.
- Collaborates and facilitates working sessions with Expereince Designer(s), Experience Design Managers and other product and/or enterprise Experience Design teams to ensure standard design practices are utilized and overall experiences are consistent.

 

 

Key Responsibility #3
- Facilitates and identifes testing and research needs within area of responsibility to support experience design strategies and solutions.
- Facilitates applicable research and testing activities within area of responsibility
- Facilitates evaluation of experiences within area of responsibility to properly identify research needs
- Educates Experience Design team on evaluation process to identify research needs
- Facilitates the translation and the analysis from competitive research around customer and employee needs into actionable insights.
- Collaborates with Experience Design team and Experience Design Research team to craft and finalize testing approach to support the outcome of a comprehensive testing plan.

 

 

Key Responsibility #4 : Team Leadership
- Leads the quality assurance effort within the team.
- Provides indirect guidance and mentorship to Associate Experience Designers and Experience Designers
- Contributes to the evolution of a dynamic process that will place all product and/or project work on a spectrum of low, medium, and high based on pre-determined intake and planning criteria.
- Contributes to the to the evolution of a dynamic process for low and medium product and/or project work to be addressed in a rapid approach to heighten efficiencies (Lean UX).

 

 

Key Responsibility #5 : Center of Excellence/Discipline Maturity & Brand Expression
- Advanced knowledge of and contribution to various brand guidelines, pattern conventions and standards, and process efficiencies related to quality assurance and center or excellence/discipline maturity
- Supports efforts of partnering with enterprise partners to shape, define, and translate new brand identities and brand expression to a new experience across multi-channel touchpoints.
- Supports efforts of partnering and influencing enterprise peers in the brand creation process to ensure digital and accessibility needs are met with brand expression assets
- Supports efforts to develop and evolve best practices through external and internal practitioner community

 

 

Experience Required
Bachelor's Degree (4 yr) in Human-Centered Design Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Information Architecture, Multimedia, Communication, Marketing, Journalism
Instructional Design, related field, or equivalent industry experience

 

Skills Required
- 5 or more years of experience as an Experience Designer
- Mobile first design experience (native & web)
- 2 or more years experience working in retail ecommerce or other large, multi-channel environment.
