Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • Candidate will perform Project Management and Agile program management role for projects supporting the modernization of our policy administration system.

Team and Team size:

  • Part of a team.
  • Contractor will be a member of the PMO and will work with the Program Manager, Product Management, Delivery team leadership, Architects, other Project Managers, etc. for the modernization projects.

Top Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordinating (internal/external) partner engagement and driving the Billing & Collections system integration scope of work (B2B, delivery planning, etc.) with a schedule, oversight of risks/issues/decisions, status, and other project items.
  • Manage cross-team activities and deliverables, such as coordination of test strategy/plan, data needs, environment needs, etc.
  • Provide hands-on support for the Agile process, delivering RTE-like capabilities including driving PI Planning and Inspect & Adapt. Engage in SoS meetings to ensure effective feature/user story management, and facilitate capacity planning to ensure effective resource management.
  • Build comprehensive timelines as well as other artifacts required to move project forward.
  • Create a comprehensive Project plan and keep it up to date with any adjustments or updates.
  • Report back to the PMO on project status as instructed.
  • Follow up with all team members on deliverables.
  • Track change and submit change requests as required.
  • Ensure all parties are updated regularly.
  • Own the creation of any additional information or materials.
  • Address challenges as they arise.
  • Escalate unresolved issues on a timely basis.
  • Think beyond the working model to create was is needed

Software tools/skills:

  • Advanced experience with software development projects including system integration, COTS application, Agile experience/training with ability to facilitate ceremonies and other activities/deliverables.

Skills/attributes:

  • 8 years minimum in project management with growth story into large-scale projects.
  • We need a self-starter, who can work on their own once they've been introduced.
  • We need someone who can manage multiple projects at once and who will be energized by a complex and comprehensive effort.
  • We need someone who can keep people to a schedule without being in any way threatening or challenging.
  • Our preference is for a PM that is neither administrative (taking notes and scheduling meetings without growth of knowledge or ownership of time/scope/cost delivery parameters) nor overly-demanding (understands that the team must get to the end of the project as a unit –does not threaten or demand compliance.)

Nice to have:

  • We would like to have someone who has good emotional resilience and a sense of humor, as well as a good reputation for problem solving.
  • We want someone who's not afraid to ask questions and knows what to do with the answers.
  • We would like someone who isn't new to contracting or working within a PMO.

Working Time:

  • 40 hour work week. Some flexibility with start and end times with typical start and end from 9 to 5.
