Description:

You will:

  • Lead teams and individual contributors through an integrated, end-to-end client implementation lifecycle view with a laser focus on software quality and client release efficiency
  • Apply situational leadership by making effective and efficient testing and release decisions, while keeping customer expectations in the forefront
  • Engage across the enterprise to identify root cause of defects and lead resolution discussions
  • Lead change control, exception, and post-mortem discussions with an eye for continuous process improvement
  • Understand challenges and concerns of partners and clients and use this insight to solve for optimal approaches to user-focused test creation and execution
  • Develop and lead meaningful and actionable communication of the enterprise’s vision, values, mission and strategic direction to inspire and influence others
  • Drive key processes such as strategic planning, performance management, and organizational design/planning
  • Provide opportunities for employees to interact and build relationships - Inspire, energize, motivate and draw out the best work from a cross-functional team
  • Report to the VP, Client Delivery and Activation

You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience directly managing high-performing teams and individual contributors
  • 5+ years of experience working with testing methodologies, software test automation, and release management
  • A creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view
  • A demonstrated orientation toward achieving results and proven ability to drive toward long-term goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level
  • Balanced business/technical background i.e. managing in a tech-based, maturing environment
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as knowledge of both Agile and traditional Waterfall project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment
  • Demonstrated use of process and metrics to manage team growth, health and efficiency
  • Experience working with external partners and driving cross-functional programs

Preferred:

  • MA, MS or PMP is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Establish strategies, including frameworks and automation tooling, required to validate user requirements and ensure a seamless user experience
  • Identify and implement various quality measurements and metrics to be regularly captured and shared with executive stakeholders
  • Develop, implement and coordinate strategies and operational enhancements aimed toward ensuring that Client Activation initiatives deliver high-impact results to partners and customers
  • Articulate a strategic vision for Quality Assurance and Release Management technical initiatives
  • Identify tools and develop infrastructure to improve the quality and efficiency of testing and release processes
  • Work in cross functional areas, understanding needs and requirements across Rally, including but not limited to Product, Business Development, Finance and Support
  • Work at multiple organizational levels, internal to Rally, and with our external partners
  • Identify and coordinate department-wide process improvement initiatives related to testing and release management
  • Build and manage a team of operations professionals that contributes to Rally’s employee-oriented company culture and emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in technology and healthcare including, but not limited to, attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five to seven years professional experience in managing both technical and operational resources
  • 5+ years of testing experience for enterprise-level applications, including developing and implementing effective test plans and test cases within the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Proven ability to develop, lead and manage teams of technical professionals
  • Excellent judgement, obsessive attention to detail, great multi?tasker, and highly motivated to get things done
  • Ability to recognize operational opportunities and transform them into actionable initiatives
  • Highly collaborative working style; can juggle competing priorities among high performing teams
  • Ability to adapt quickly, build relationships, engage and motivate people
  • Balanced business/technical background i.e. managing in a tech-based, maturing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan complex projects, set milestones, establish success metrics, and execute effectively
  • Experience working with external partners and driving cross-functional programs
  • Strong analytic, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands

  • Experience leading or assisting with major technology and process redesign initiatives, from definition through implementation and change management

Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • The teams managed by this position are responsible for the gathering of business requirements, testing and delivery of those requirements in support of monthly client launches (software delivery according to client specifications).
  • This is a highly-productional zed business and the successful candidate will have experience delivering according to a schedule in addition to being able to take a step back and view the end to end processes to find opportunities for improvement.

Ideal Background:

  • Minimum of five to seven years professional experience in managing both technical and operational client validation (requirements gathering, testing, defect management and release) resources
  • 5+ years of testing experience for enterprise-level applications, including developing and implementing effective test plans and test cases within the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Track record of understanding and implementing testing frameworks and automation tooling, required to validate user requirements and ensure a seamless user experience
  • Identify tools and develop infrastructure to improve the quality and efficiency of testing and release processes
  • Work in cross functional areas, understanding needs and requirements across Digital, including but not limited to Product, Business Development, Finance and Support
  • Experience negotiating and managing an offshore team of QA resources

Experience:

  • Direct management experience ( we see a lot of candidates that have managed offshore resources and that's not the same thing)
  • Demonstrated success in delivering in a production environment
  • Demonstrated ability to elevate the test management framework/program
