Position Summary:

  • As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be working hands-on in a technical role to build the next generation of products in support of our Brands Value Propositions.
  • The role of the Senior Data Engineer is to design, develop and build highly effective data pipelines and data models to enable and support AI-enabled decision making and analytics for our products which is crucial in delivering the highest quality products and differentiating features that are essential to company's  ability to service agents.
  • You'll work as part of a nimble team, contributing to large-scale initiatives that impact multiple product lines and teams across the organization.
  • You'll work closely with Engineers, Designers, Product Managers, and an Engineering Team Lead.
  • You should be comfortable communicating in a clear and concise manner; this includes being comfortable engaging in regular discussions with your team; organize, manage and communicate project status, findings, and escalations on a regular basis.

What you'll do:

  • Develop GraphQL and GRPC based microservices
  • Design, develop, review and maintain high performance, low latency data pipelines, distributed systems based on best practice standards.
  • Create, build and maintain scalable data models, data APIs.
  • Design, build and optimize new and existing processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
  • Create and provide regular feedback loops.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience in building complex ETL pipelines for model deployment that processes terabytes of data using Spark/AWS Glue, Lambda, Step functions, S3, CloudFormation, Athena, SageMaker, API GateWay
  • Ability to work quickly with an eye towards writing clean, efficient, and reusable code in Python, Scala, Java, Go, SQL.
  • Strong understanding of AWS cloud ecosystem (Athena, SageMaker, Lambda, Kinesis, Glue, Task, Step functions, DynamoDB, CloudFormation).
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational (Aurora, Postgres) and non-relational databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB), query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
  • Solid understanding of distributed system concepts, non-functional requirements like logging, monitoring, debugging, alerting, performance.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic, commitment, and ownership.
