Job Description

Looking for a Technical Writer with the ability to write using both technical and non-technical / business terminology to produce best in class documentation for enterprise Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) / web services.

Your Responsibilities

  • Understand and document existing API products by leveraging existing documentation, performing testing of the existing APIs using a developer tool such as Postman or collaborating with the development team
  • Write both non-technical copy to describe the expected functionality of the APIs and the business definitions behind the various data in the request / response as well as technical copy documenting the request / response formats using to industry standard methods
  • Utilize documentation tools / best practices such as RAML, Mulesoft pages and Swagger as the destination format for the documentation
  • Review the documentation with stakeholders, collect feedback and edit

Your Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience in technical writing of developer consumable documentation such as API documentation or similar
  • Strong knowledge of the the fundamentals of software development and APIs including request, response, RAML and JSON
  • Experience with formats and platforms for the delivery of API documentation such as RAML, Mulesoft pages and Swagger
  • Ability to write both technical content as well as business focus content
  • Experience with leveraging developer tools such as Postman to be able to independently explore / test APIs to confirm the actual behavior and document it
