As a product designer, you will work to support a product team, helping to shape the strategy & experience of our financial products. In addition to supporting your product, designers will also work to support & evolve client's design system. When delivered, your work will range from sketches to prototypes to high-fidelity mockups—focusing not on prescribed steps but what is right for the project. Applicants can expect a highly collaborative environment, working alongside other product designers, design technologists & UX researchers.

  • Actively collaborate & contribute to the larger product design team efforts
  • Work with UX researchers to help deliver validated & tested work that enhances the client experience
  • Aid design technologists & front-end developers to implement prototypes & completed designs into code (HTML, CSS & JavaScript)
  • Works with general supervision and follows established procedures
  • Effective oral and written communication skills along with logical, analytical and abstract thinking skills
Leadership / Facilitation:
  • Ability to work in teams 
  • Create and communicate design solutions using wireframes and mock-ups 
  • Work within client's visual design language, pattern library & usage guidelines 
  • Actively participate in design critiques, stakeholder reviews & company-wide demos
Skills & Abilities: Quantitative & Analytical Skills: Skill Level: Basic: Take ownership of design solutions from concept to implementation.

  • 1-2+ years of experience.
  • Solid understanding of graphic design fundamentals (typography, color theory, layout, etc.) 
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written) 
  • Basic proficiency with Sketch / Adobe CC software 
  • Basic proficiency (or strong interest in learning) with HTML/CSS
Software & Technology:
  • Sketch, Adobe CC, Prototyping software (such as Invision), Visual Studio Code (or other code editor)
  • 2 / 4-year college degree or equivalent professional experience
Premium Skills:
  • Ability to deliver production-level HTML/CSS to our pattern library 
  • Experience working with Git (or other version control software) 
  • Experience working closely with UX researchers 
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, experience & interface 
  • Understands & advocates for creating accessible software 
  • Experience working in the financial industry
  • A portfolio of sample work that clearly communicates successful customer/user-focused website and application solutions that drive business success.
