Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • Responsible for the delivery of product enhancements in a matrixed organization leveraging cross functional teams, will need to Co-ordinate delivery activities, track progress and provide regular status updates.
  • Tightly manage scope, timelines and quality of product enhancements
  • Develop sound knowledge of our core systems and how they integrate with other applications across the enterprise to meet Business needs.
  • Get hands on and drive high level solution approach, design, implementation, and delivery strategy of a highly complex cross-functional programs in an ambiguous or new technology area
  • Consistently bring strong, data-driven business and technical judgment to decisions
  • Solve unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business; translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
  • Apply knowledge to invent, evolve, improve, and simplify application landscape
  • Coordinate, facilitate and actively participate in operational meetings with internal and external stakeholders; ensure customers, vendors and senior management are provided relevant and timely information on program status, risks and mitigation strategies
  • Actively engage across multidisciplinary teams to achieve program deliverables; Foster and promote collaborative relationships with matrix partners/stakeholders; Establish trust and credibility at all levels of the organization; Work independently and as a team member
  • Work across multiple resources/functions and orchestrate multiple activities at once to get things done
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to research ad hoc system and technology-related program issues; identify root cause and implement proactive solutions; Monitor implementation plan against milestones and/or IT release dates to ensure successful delivery of solution

Ideal Background:

  • Health Care background with working knowledge of health care transactions(enrollment, billing, claims, finance).
  • Facets experience is preferred.

Team and Team size:

  • Agile Scrum team with 5-8 team members.
  • 1 Scrum Master, 1 Product Owner, 3-4 Software Engineers, 1-2 Quality Engineers

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 5+ years equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of full Software Development Life Cycle experience
  • 4+ years of SQL Server or Oracle development experience with designing data structures, building functions, stored procedures, indexes, triggers, and performance tuning
  • 4+ years of development experience in combination of the following:
    • Java/J2EE
    • Informatica, Talend, Data Stage or any ETL Tool
    • Emerging Technologies such as Kafka Streaming, NOSQL DB's such as Cassandra, MongoDB, Cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, Kubernetes Dockers, Openshift, etc.
  • Proficiency with tools such as:
    • Jenkins
    • Cucumber
    • Gherkin
  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills, must be able to work well with teams
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a virtual team environment
  • Experience in an Agile Environment
  • Knowledge of CI/CD Techniques

The following skills are preferred

  •  Experienced in system integrations using RESTful APIs (JSON), Batch interfaces.
  • 1-2+ years of development experience on Facets in 1 or more of the following areas – Billing, Invoicing, Eligibility and Enrollment, Claim Processing, Claims Pricing, Finance, Utilization Management or Providers
  • 1+ years of Tivoli (TWS) job scheduling.
  • Familiarity and experience with JUNIT and NUNIT Testing Frameworks.
  • Sound understanding of Agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures
  • Proven Experience working and delivering with global teams
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, process improvement initiatives focused on IT/System enhancements
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, ambiguous work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to form alliances with supporting organizations and work in a matrixed environment

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in Agile/Lean Methodology
  • Experience in .Net or C#
  • Healthcare experience and exposure to EDI and HIPAA transactions
  • Experience working in a virtual team environment
  • Exposure to and understanding of Facets.
