Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • Focus for this role will be for our member benefits APIs and the challenges of supporting our regulatory and members needs.
  • This role includes understanding requirements and applying forward-thinking about changes to new or existing APIs to support our customers needs.
  • You will interact with Business and Product Owners, technical support teams, and external third-party partners as well as with individuals in roles such as product managers, project managers, and operations management teams.

  • Knowledge of Health Care Industry and related business functions, with a focus on plan benefits and/or claims.
  • Extensive experience in requirements gathering, problem solving; systems design; solution documentation and flow diagrams; partnering with Development team for design review and development; knowledge of REST APIS, JSON, XML; testing acceptance criteria creation and execution for unit, integration, functional, performance, dark model validation;
  • Experience with CA Agile or other agile tool, query languages such as SQL, basic understanding of OAuth2.o and/or OpenID Connect (OIDC)
  • Basic knowledge with Azure, Postman, microservice-based architecture

Experience:

  • Analysis skills mixed with ability to multi-task work activities and still have a positive attitude while working with others.

Top Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst role, which includes developing requirements and performing system analysis, systems analyst or project management experience leading technical projects, and experience with major systems implementation.
  • 2+ years of experience with Agile product model and system development lifecycle methods
  • 2+ year of experience in Health Care industry.

Team and Team size:

  • BSA team structure ~ Level 26-28 all have responsibilities for one of more OBAPI API.
    Each BSA will be assigned to a scrum team which has a typical team membership ~ this team has 1 scrum master, 1+ BSA, multiple dev team members.
    Currently we have 6 scrum teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • As part of our  Digital/ Benefits API team, you will play a significant part in supporting our flagship web site, myuhc.com, our mobile presence and our third-party partners.
  • This role includes understanding requirements and applying forward-thinking about changes to new or existing APIs to support our customers needs.
  • You will interact with Business and Product Owners, technical support teams, and external third-party partners as well as with individuals in roles such as product managers, project managers, and operations management teams.
  • Focus for this role will be for our member benefits APIs and the challenges of supporting our regulatory and members needs.
  • If you enjoy pulling together business and/or technical requirements, taking into consideration multiple backend data sources, providing solutions with an eye toward future technologies, and delivering a product which will supports our health care members needs, this may be the place for you.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst role
  • 2+ years of experience in developing requirements and performing system analysis.
  • 2+ years of systems analyst or project management experience leading technical projects.
  • 2+ years of experience of major systems implementation experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with Agile product model and system development lifecycle methods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate ideas and problem solutions.
  • Ability to effectively work with both internal and external clients.
  • Knowledge of Health Care Industry and related business functions, with a focus on plan benefits.
  • Knowledge of basic db queries and business partner support of business data within tables.
  • Extensive experience in requirements gathering, problem solving; systems design; solution documentation and flow diagrams; partnering with Development team for design review and development; knowledge of REST APIS, JSON, XML; testing acceptance criteria creation and execution for unit, integration, functional, performance, dark model validation;
  • Experience with CA Agile or other agile tool, query languages such as SQL, basic understanding of OAuth2.o and/or OpenID Connect (OIDC)
  • Basic knowledge with Azure, Postman, microservice-based architecture

Interview Process:

  • Typically one phone w/myself (30 mins) and one team member, then second group call with BSA director, OBAPI Dev lead, BSAs who would be working with person , and myself (1 hour).
  • a. How many rounds? CA: Typically 2, maybe 3 if we have multiple good matches for candidates
  • b. Video vs. phone? CA: Video preferred (Teams).
  • c. How technical will the interviews be? CA: Its preferred to have knowledge about technical architecture especially API development; we also recognize this can be taught/gained if the candidate has basic technical knowledge.
