Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • Primary responsibility is to complete and deliver contract deliverables to the regulator.
  • Other duties would be to work with internal and external partners on ad hoc data requests, and to offer ideas for streamlining existing process.
  • This is a temp to hire position used to backfill an existing FTE

Ideal Background:

  • Someone with Healthcare or insurance experience.
  • The ideal candidate would be someone who has worked for a managed care organization or with a health system/hospital in a data or reporting capacity.
  • Someone with Government Program experience including Medicare and/or Medicaid would be fabulous.

Team and Team size:

  • Team currently has 2 members – one Senior reporting analyst, and one senior business analyst. There are 2 open positions on the team, including this one.
  • The other is a temp to hire position for Sr. Data Analyst that will be managing file ingestion, advanced data pulls and analysis, and working with leadership on affordability, quality, and reducing claims rework.
  • The current team members do not possess the Oracle DB or SQL skills we are looking for on the team.
  • The current Sr. reporting analyst is highly skilled and has high working knowledge of reporting requirements and contract deliverables.
  • This position would add additional support and be able to streamline and document reporting process and serve as a mentor to help the existing person develop skills.
  • The Sr. Business Analyst on the team works with internal process, correcting response file errors received from the state, ad hoc reporting requests.

Top Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver state reports, document requests and projects in SharePoint or in Planner (Microsoft Office 365), research any state regulator request, utilizing ORBIT Business object, PL/SQL Oracle DB

Skills/attributes:

  • 2 years experience with Oracle DB, SQL, Tableau.
  • Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Office applications (excel Pivot Tables, formulas, power query, word, outlook, SharePoint), organization, ability to work on multiple projects at the same time, and pivot as required by state regulator or internal leaders.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal partners and leaders to gather specifications and deliver results.
  • Understanding of Healthcare and insurance terminology and process.

Nice to have:

  • College Degree, Medicaid/Medicare experience, presentation skills

Working Time:

  •  daytime hours, 8-5 with hour lunch.

Interview Process:

  • a. How many rounds? 2 rounds.
  • b. Video vs. phone? Teams video
  • c. How technical will the interviews be? The interview will ask questions regarding hypothetical scenarios – such as we receive an urgent request for data – how would you go about meeting the request. There would also be a short quiz to demonstrate sql and Oracal DB skills.
