Specific deliverables for this role will include:

  • Creating a deep understanding and empathy for our target customers through sprint cycle rapid-feedback loops, prototype testing, user interviews, contextual inquiry, concept validation, field research, surveys, personas, lab studies and other methods that you identify to be most effective
  • Working closely with product and design teams to identify research topics and build a research roadmap; communicate and refresh on a regular basis to ensure relevancy
  • Ability to synthesize findings and make design/product recommendations
  • Ability to create research roadmaps that impact product lifecycles using a variety of appropriate techniques
  • Identifying the best method or mix of methods based on research questions, timeline and resourcing
  • Creating recruiting screeners, test scripts, interview guides and scheduling research studies
  • Creating appropriate recruitment screeners for each study to ensure the recruit matches target demographics
  • Utilizing remote, unmoderated usability test platforms (Usertesting.com, UserZoom, etc.) to rapidly turn around concurrent tests
  • Facilitating research and/or usability test studies
  • Creating well-written deliverables that provide succinct and actionable insights
  • Using research insights to drive impact on product design and direction
  • Creating and presenting results from research and/or usability test studies to UX designers, product management and stakeholders
  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to research platforms, test recording software and devices
  • Analyzing quantitative data and synthesizing it with qualitative feedback
  • Working with UX designers and product owners to develop strategic roadmaps and identify end user needs
  • Ability to develop metrics that appropriately reflect the user experience quality of a feature, product or system
  • Understanding different data types from different sources and performing quick but thorough data analysis to create insightful and actionable findings
  • Working cross-functionally with UX, product management, engineering and business teams to communicate results and recommendations and advocate on behalf of customers

 

Skills:

 

  • 2+ years proven success leading User Research projects with demonstrated impact Portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g. study plans, reports, personas) End-to-end knowledge of all stages of research (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis and reporting)
  • Ability to synthesize research findings into actionable insights
  • Experience presenting user research results to stakeholders of different levels

 

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a highly agile/scrum environment
  • Experience providing rapid-feedback research into Sprint cycles
  • Experience with a variety of research tools, such as User Zoom, Usertesting.com, Optimal Workshop or similar tools
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
  • Experience building strong relationships and collaborating across large organizations
  • An unfailing passion and capacity to advocate on behalf of users User research or other experience from the healthcare industry
  • The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Exposure to design software, such as Axure, InVision and Sketch
