  • Duties in this position include monitor, maintain and update computer systems; review, analyze and modify programming systems including coding, testing, debugging and installing for large-scale computer systems.
  • Evaluate system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for Windows operating system stability.
  • Provide expertise in software systems programming, operating software applications, consulting on complex projects/existing applications, timely completion of scheduled jobs, and overall system operations.
  • Also includes overseeing environments’ health and facilitation of high severity incidents to improve the state of service availability and continuity.
  • Develop processes and activities that focus on restoring service after an incident occurs.
  • Document problems and take corrective action as required.

Ideal Background:

  • We need a person with the Microsoft Windows server skillset over healthcare understanding.
  • A strong understanding of compliance standards will go a long way in turning that into usefulness in SOX, HIPPA compliance understanding.


  • Working in a large environment, over 2000 servers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot server issues on their own.
  • Knowledge of Ruby scripting language.

Top Requirements:

  • First we need Windows Server Admin, 5 years, with Windows 2012, 2016, 2019 experience.
  • Second is the need for Scripting experience, 3 years and in that having PowerShell at 2 years.
  • Third I would like someone with at least intermediate knowledge in one of the following: VMWare, WSUS, Antivirus

Primary Responsibilities: - External

  • Work with auditing and security standards such as PCI, DISA, SOX.
  • Create and maintain all documentation and adhere to company standards and PCI/SOX policy and regulations.
  • Facilitate hardening, testing and monitoring systems against possible security threats, with exposure to PCI and SOX standards.
  • Perform server administration functions across the nation and abroad.
  • Deploy operating system security and software updates.
  • Complete vulnerability and risk management including antivirus and system/security baselines.
  • Act highly organized, possess a meticulous attention to detail and comfortable working within strict operational boundaries and procedures.
  • Possess excellent communication and multitasking skills and can complete high level projects with little supervision.

Qualifications - External

  • Undergraduate degree or 5+ years of related and equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting/maintaining Windows server operating systems.
  • 3+ years of experience with VMware and ESX Server Support.
  • 1+ year of general experience with PowerShell Scripting or Visual Basic Scripting and Microsoft install packages.
  • Broad knowledge and experience with hardware and software systems, including their installation, maintenance and lifecycles
  • Willing to work on Wednesday-Sunday evenings.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with auditing and security standards such as PCI, DISA, SOX.
  • Experience with creating and updating training documentation and presentations as needed.
  • Experience with Configuration Management through CHEF, utilizing (PowerShell, JavaScript or Ruby).
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Working Time:

  • Wednesday through Monday; 8 P.M. to 4 A.M. CST.
  • This is the only shift we're looking to hire for at this time.

Interview Process:

  • a. How many rounds? We can discuss what is normal that you see for IT. Does HR attend each meeting? I will ask my manager if he wants to be involved.
  • b. Video vs. phone? We can do video for the first and phone for subsequent calls?
  • c. How technical will the interviews be? We will want to verify their understanding level so would ask a few technical questions.
