Once you join the team, you will:

  • Design and develop course modules and materials that are digestible, modular and create space for application as well as reflection.
  • Create complementary instructional documentation including guides, worksheets, and video scripts.
  • Bring content to life through storytelling and examples that contextualize the material within meaningful scenarios that spark empathy and build knowledge retention.
  • Write memos and other narrative documents that support team operations.
  • Examples include conceptional press releases for products that have yet to be launched and strategy memos using extensive data to back them up.
  • We use writing from The Wall Street Journal or The Economist as our guide for exceptional writing.
  • Brainstorm and develop ways to engage diverse audiences in virtual environments.
  • Use your voice and our customers voice to communicate how we can drive positive change for those we serve.

To be successful in this role, you have:

  • Demonstrated experience in content writing for online experiential learning courses with learner engagement and retention in mind.
  • Experience with learning design, curriculum development, eLearning development, and/or content creation.
  • Knowledge of instructional design, adult learning principles, distance learning, or a related field and/or a body of work.
  • A strong command of English language and grammar to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with design thinking and ethnographic research.
  • Familiarity designing content with accessibility and inclusivity in mind.
  • Comfort working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfort giving and receiving feedback including acting on constructive feedback and reviewing the work of others to provide recommendations for improvement.

Bonus, wed love to know if you have:

  • Diversified writing and storytelling experience such as writing effective copy, instructional text, audio, and video scripts.
  • Knowledge of Social Determinants of Health and how they manifest in individuals and communities.
  • Exposure to learning management systems as well as common software used in the design and development of learning experiences.

Top Requirements:

  • We want demonstrated experience (i.e. can show examples of their work) in some combination of instructional design, eLearning curriculum development, AND/OR course design for diverse backgrounds and learning styles.

Team and Team size:

  •  The Fusion team is roughly 22 people. We have a combination of designers and strategists.
  • The team is broken down into Product, Experience, and Strategy but we work across all three.
  • This position will report to me and within the Strategy arm of the team.
  • In this part of the team, we have 7 people total, but again, we operate across the full team for our projects.

Interview Process:

  • How many rounds? 2-3 rounds: Introduction and vetting (about an hour and a half total commitment); Deeper dive into how they think and work (usually 2-4 hours)
  • Video vs. phone? Video.
  • How technical will the interviews be? For the first interview, we will ask their opinions and ideas for solving certain problems, while getting a feel for team dynamics and work style.
  • The second interview will be more hands-on where we will ask them to work through a couple of problems and present their work.
  • Would love to see a writing sample at some point in the process.
