  • This position is for a DBA (Cloud, On-Premise). The candidate will be responsible for helping us administer databases in a very large Azure Cloud subscription with a multi-million dollar yearly spend.

Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • Cloud, On-Premise Database Administration

Ideal Background:

  • The successful candidate will have a background and experience in database administration in both private and public cloud environments.

The successful candidate must also understand:

  • SQL Performance Tuning
  • Workload Management
  • Deployments to NONPROD and PROD, On-premise and in Cloud
  • Security and Networking best practices
  • Recent trends in Cloud.

Team and Team size:

  •  Team Badgers, Size: 10 (6 in US, 4 in India)

Must have skills/tools

  • Resourcefulness and the ability to learn quickly
  • MPP/Columnar Database Experience such as (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, AWS Redshift): 2 years
  • Cloud platform experience (Other cloud platforms okay but Azure preferable): 2 years
  • Scripting/automation experience (Powershell / shell scripting / python, etc.): 2 years
  • Big Data Experience with datasets in the hundreds of Terabytes to several Petabytes

Nice to have skills/attributes

  • Netezza Database Experience or willingness to learn it
  • Linux O/S Experience (for example RHEL7)

Working Time:

  • This is a DBA position, so after hours and weekend support will be needed on a rotational basis.
  • Prefer CST, EST time zones as they overlap better with India time.
  • If a candidate is in PST, that can be an option if they are willing to work CST or EST hours, but we prefer CST/EST candidates.

Interview Process:

  •  Round 1: Video call with hiring manager/director to discuss role, candidate goals, and fit to position.
  • Round 2: Video call with a few of our engineers. Discussion of resume with technical questions.
  • Anticipate interviews starting week of 9/13.
