  • The IT DESKTOP ASSET SPECIALIST II assist in desktop hardware and software procurement, deployment, control and compliance.
  • Assist in maintaining software license compliance.
  • Adhere to purchasing system policy and overall purchasing requirements.
  • Ensure that the desktop hardware and software asset inventory systems are maintained and accurate.


  • Responsible for assisting in the effectiveness of the PC hardware and software asset system.
  • Support PC replacement processes according to policy.
  • Assist in providing metrics necessary to support desktop asset functions.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate and updated hardware and software information in the inventory database.
  • Maintains productive relationships with peers and management in IT and the business function.


  • Bachelors Degree preferred High School graduate with sufficient experience in computer operations or finance helpful.
  • No advanced degree required.
  • 1-3 years of experience.
  • Basic knowledge of regulations and standards affecting desktop software and hardware compliance.
  • Basic knowledge in the use of the entire Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent Customer support skills.
  • Basic knowledge in records keeping, statistical analysis and reporting.
  • Some knowledge of desktop operating systems and application support.
  •  It is CRITICAL that the candidates have advanced/expert level experience in excel.
  • This is a Software Asset Management role, and does not focus on Asset or PC Hardware knowledge.
  • Advanced Excel skills are utilized by the team on a daily basis.
  • The position also includes research and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of software licensing terminology and types of software in the marketplace should be existing worker knowledge or researched as part of on-the-job requirements.
  • Worker would be in the office week of start date listed.
  • There is no OT currently allowed for this position.
  • Previous challenges;
  • candidates not being as technical as needed and lack of excel skills.
  • Handles level 2 requests for software licensing; issues with license or install, they go out research issues, contacting vendor, google search of vendors website, downloading software to network path.. uses a excel a LOT;
  • most be an expert/advanced excel user, pivot tables, filters.
  • Having OS skills would be great; experience with network paths, able to use Sharepoint.
  • Lots of research and reporting; lots of metrics.
  • Systems of records to search data..
  • understand fuzzy search. Uses remedy ticketing system and is migrating to service now.
  • Responding to clients via e-mail; some chat to Microsoft teams; team works with clients overseas. Bachelors preferred High school diploma required
