Essential Functions:
Coach and mentor Product Owner while supporting the following activities:
  • Develop a product backlog including ordering, definition of done, and acceptance criteria.
  • Grow, groom, and refine a backlog through emerging and evolving requirements.
  • Communicate product vision, value, goals, and backlog items to the team.

Coach and mentor Scrum Team that is adopting and maturing an Agile delivery model:
  • support team-wise estimating, planning, and assignment.
  • iterative and incremental development, and handle emerging and evolving requirements.
  • build a cross-functional team and use Agile engineering practices.
  • encourage communicate openly, transparently, and respectfully with others to create working agreements.
  • adopt sprints starting from value, vision, and goals and ending with a demo and working software.
  • respect time boxes, including the sprint itself, planning, the daily stand-up, demo, and retrospective.
  • Manage project/team documentation to including status reporting, meeting minutes, risks, issues, action items, and other communications.
  • Work with functional managers to assure complete and appropriate resourcing.
  • Identify issues and drive issues to resolution.
  • Consult with management on an ongoing basis to maintain strategic link to business needs.
Knowledge, Skill & Competency Requirements:
  • Experience leading a team evolving from traditional Waterfall to Agile.
  • Experience delivering application development projects end to end with demonstrated knowledge of SDLC (software development life cycle) and Scrum.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels within the organization.
  • Experience leading Quality Assurance activities to include System Integration Testing, UAT support and Test Automation.
  • Knowledge of  financial industry products, functions, marketing and/or service policies and procedures, preferably Annuity or Life insurance.
  • Experienced in formal techniques of risk management.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Experience in Change Management
Education & Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience managing and delivering successful IT projects
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Financial and Insurance Product Industry Experience is a plus
