Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • Software Engineer that will be supporting Admin applications on the UMR platform (eligibility, case installation, billing).
  • Work will include development within larger capital driven initiatives & programs that must be delivered in 2021.
  • Resource must have strong analytical skills and strong communication skills in order to work with our UMR business partners and deliver as expected.
  • Resource must be able to work independently to solve complex business problems in a very dynamic work environment.

Ideal Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT software development, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with Agile & DevOps Methodologies
  • Healthcare experience in Third Party Administration (TPA) & self-funded employer

Team and Team size:

  • 13 team members.
  • 4 technical leads/architects
  • 9 developers

Top Responsibilities:

  •  Collaboration with IT & business partners to understand and solve business problems
  • Analysis & solution design of Mainframe applications on CPS Admin & Claim platform (UMR)
  • Development & testing of Mainframe applications on CPS platform (Cobol: batch; CICS; DB2)
  • DevOps support of Mainframe applications
  • Pursue technology solutions that leverage modern technology & architecture (API’s, Kafka) on the Mainframe

Skills/attributes Required

  • 3-5 years of experience working within the Software Development Life Cycle
  • 3-5 years of experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS on an IBM Mainframe
  • Experience with Mainframe tools such as XPEDITER, SPUFI, File-Aid, Abend-Aid,
  • Endevor, Strobe, & TSO/ISPF

Skills/attributes Preferred

  • In addition to required IBM Mainframe skills, preferred skills would include experience with API and Kafka technologies.

Working Time:

  •  Range of hours between 7am & 5pm.

  • How technical will the interviews be? Will want to have thorough understanding of candidates technical ability, so interview will have strong technical focus, with expectation of candidate able to provide specifics on past work projects.
