Ideal Background:

  • We are looking for a program manager who has direct experience leading Epic implementations (5+ years).
  • Epic is a very complex and specialized application roll out. We are especially interested in candidates who have implemented Epicare Ambulatory in a large organization, such as our org.
  • Should have experience working with shared services within an enterprise (e.g. we have our EEPS for hosting, UHG Change Management, etc).
  • Must have experience navigating large organizations such as ours.

Experience:

  • - Candidates who have a stronger background in virtual care / telemedicine projects would be ideal.
  • - Experience with Epic MyChart implementations, especially projects where patient engagement and digital experience was a key focus.
  • -Is all ambulatory – no inpatient workflows / experience is necessary.

Top Requirements:

  • • Epic implementation experience is an absolute must.
  • We are not going to consider candidates without a successful track record of Epic implementation.
  • Written/Verbal communication skills must be excellent, including ability to deliver executive level presentations and reporting.
  • • Strong PM background, ideally PMP certified.

Team and Team size:

  •  We are still building out the structure, but this role would be the program manager for the Epic team. The project team will include Business team members (Clinical leads, Provider leaders, Business Operators), Technology teams,
  • Architecture, 10-15 Epic builders who would take direction from this role.
  • I would estimate a stakeholder register of ~75+ individuals of various roles & responsibilities.

Top Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading our operational groups and end users through the implementation of new Epic Practice Management and Electronic Medical Record systems (EMRs).
  • Immediate project involves onboarding of a new service area to existing Epic instance, and enabling new and innovative digital workflows into the Epic environment.
  • Manages project status, timelines, budget, and risks/issues by effectively communicating to leadership at all levels, including Senior Leadership Team / Executive Steering.
  • Leads communications and acts as the main project liason between Epic, internal IT, and Operations.
  • Ensures that appropriate project health monitoring tools are implemented and utilized. Works with project team to ensure efficient workflow design, system build, and optimization of clinical and revenue cycle systems to best serve our end users and patients.
  • Adheres to project management best practices and standards.

Experience Requirements:

  • 4+ years of project management experience involving the deployment Epic required.
  • 7+ years of overall project management experience.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare applications and their use in ambulatory and ancillary settings.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to solve highly sophisticated organizational, operational, and people problems.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

License/Certification:

  • Epic certification/proficiency in at least one application preferred (e.g. EpicCare Ambulatory)
  • PMP certification preferred

Interview Process:

  •  a. How many rounds? 2
  • b. Video vs. phone? Video via MS team
  • c. How technical will the interviews be? Medium? Need to validate Epic & PM skill set. This is not a technical coding / developer position so there will not be any of that kind of technical piece to the interview.
