Lead Software Engineer

  • Software engineering is the application of engineering to the design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance of software in a systematic method.
  • The roles in this function will cover all primary development activity across all technology functions that ensure we deliver code with high quality for our applications, products and services and to understand customer needs and to develop product roadmaps.

Software Engineering Capabilities

  • Possesses capability to work on full business and/or technology stack. 
  • Develops or contributes meaningfully to shared components across products.
  • These components or patterns could be adopted by other teams/products to solve similar problems.
  • Focuses on the biggest problems repeated across the org and constructs solutions to meet the complex needs of many clients.
  • Has responsibility and capability to work multi-platforms. 
  • Responsible for large and more complex components, while influencing overall product architecture and patterns. 
  • Actively engages with users and customer feedback processes to improve personal and organization understanding of business, market, and customer’s perspectives. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead development and deliver innovative approaches to delivering on the needs of our stakeholders striving for simplicity and maintainability
  • Create and promote reusable patterns within our team as well as the broader software engineering teams
  • Serve as a leader/mentor to multiple teams on architectural practices as well as our platform and the various capabilities and tools used to deploy, run, operate, and support the software deployed on it
  • Drive the implementation of the platform across multiple engineers, ensuring compliant, scalable, reliable, and well tested code with good quality monitoring, telemetry, and supportability
  • Be sought out as an expert and review the work of others establishing and driving adoption of good coding standards and patterns
  • Play a key role in architectural initiatives, roadmap, and technology direction balancing long-term platform velocity with short-term stakeholder needs
  • Evaluate new technologies where we find we have gaps or areas for improvement which these will help resolve

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience developing in an enterprise environment and leading both development and architecture initiatives
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs using C# and .NET Core
  • Experience building, deploying, and operating production cloud applications preferably on Azure
  • DevOps experience leveraging Azure DevOps and other Azure hosted tools (or similar experience/tools)
  • Experience creating architectural diagrams such as logical architectures, component architectures, data flow diagrams, etc. in an agile development environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building automation and development tools such as CLIs or SDKs
  • Experience building software using modern patterns such as streaming, event-driven architectures, and microservices
  • Experience with a variety of database technologies (Relational/Non-Relational)
  • Experience collaborating across teams to deliver complete and cohesive features and end-to-end experiences, on time
  • Experience implementing and driving complex solutions through a team of engineers
  • Demonstrated ability to impact/influence engineering and project teams
  • Proven track record of shipping highly scalable and reliable services/systems

Must Haves:

  • 5+ years of experience with C#, .Net Core 3.x, JavaScript, Angular (Version 6+ preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience of application architecture design
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL 2016 development
  • 2+ years of experience developing in Microservices
  • 2+ years of experience in Azure
  • Proven ability to effectively work independently or with a team as a software developer
  • Proven ability to effectively articulate and communicate concerns, issues or inquires in a timely manner

Pluses:

  • Experience working in a healthcare background
  • Experience developing in SSIS creating and troubleshooting stored procedures
  • Experience with ETL
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, TFS
  • Experience with Confluence
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and ceremonies

Day-to-day:

  • Candidates will be a part of a team where they will design, development, implement, test and maintain software in an Azure cloud environment following an Agile development methodology.
  • They will also be required to collaborate with Business and IT teams to discuss issues, make recommendations and solve complex problems.

Working Hours :

  • Hours could range from 7am to 5pm (starting and ending may vary based on the day) generally speaking.
